You open your community in the morning and start the scan. Who posted. What needs a reply. Did anyone join. What am I forgetting.

There is something sitting in that same sidebar that could have done the scan before you got there.

So, what is Circle AI? It is on every plan, you already have access to it, and most people have never opened it. Not because they don’t want to, but because nobody told them where it lives or what to say once they get there.

Here is what it does, what it is genuinely good at, and the one setup step that makes it sound like you instead of a robot.

What Is Circle AI?

Circle AI is an admin-only conversation partner inside your community. You describe what you want in plain language and it builds it with you. It is included on every plan.

Start with that admin-only part, because it is the question I get first. Your members don’t see it. They can’t use it. Nothing you do in there shows up on their side. This is your back office, not a member feature.

The before and after is the fastest way to understand why people are making a fuss. Building something used to mean setting up spaces one at a time, working out how your course should be structured, wiring up a paywall, and usually staring at a blank page not totally sure where to begin. It took weeks.

Now it takes one prompt to start. You don’t need all the answers and you don’t need to know the platform inside out. You describe what you are trying to do, it gets to work, and then it refines the plan with you. That last part is the bit I like. It is a conversation, not a vending machine.

What Can You Use Circle AI For?

Structure, courses, paywalls, content, and launch planning. The useful thing is that you can ask for any of it in the way you would say it out loud, rather than translating it into platform language first.

Two real prompts, so this stops being abstract:

  • I want to build a course from scratch. Can you help me figure out how to position it and build the relevant spaces?
  • I want to know why my engagement is dropping and what I should do about it based on what has worked before.

Notice what those have in common. Neither one is a tidy instruction. They are both the way you would say it to a business partner over coffee.

That is the shift. You are not writing commands. You are describing a situation and letting it work out what needs to happen. If you have ever opened a tool and frozen because you weren’t sure of the right phrasing, this is your permission to stop worrying about it.

How Do Circle AI Skills Work?

Circle AI runs on more than fifty specialized skills. A skill is a step-by-step recipe that runs in the background to produce a result, built from what has worked across more than thirty thousand Circle customers.

The recipe comparison is exactly right. A recipe already knows the order of operations. You don’t have to know when the eggs go in or why you cream the butter first. Somebody figured that out, tested it, and wrote it down.

Here is the relief: you don’t need to know what the skills are. There is no list to memorize and no magic phrasing to learn. You describe what you want and Circle AI picks the right recipe for the job.

What Is the Circle AI Daily Brief?

The daily brief is a scan of your community that Circle AI runs for you. Each one gives you three things: a quick overview of what is happening, three important signals, and three recommended actions.

These are not generic recommendations. It already knows your business, your goals, and what the two of you have been working on. It combines that with Circle’s own best practices to find the opportunities worth your attention, then tells you what to do next.

My favorite part is what happens when you click one. The recommendation opens into a conversation with that context already loaded, so you go from “here is an opportunity” to actually working on it in one click. No reading a report and then starting over from a blank box.

Because it has memory, the briefs get better over time as it learns more about your business and where you are headed. You can also have the brief emailed to you with a link straight back in, daily or weekly, or turn it off entirely in your notification settings.

Think about that morning scan again. This does it before you sit down.

Why Does Circle AI Sound Generic?

Because the context step got skipped. Circle AI lets you tell it about your business and your voice, and the output stays bland until you do.

Think of it like hiring someone on Monday. You wouldn’t hand them your email list and say go. You would tell them who you serve, what you are building, how you talk, and what you would never say.

That is the voice guide. Who your people are, what your community is for, your tone, and the words you avoid. Fill it in once and everything downstream improves: posts sound like you wrote them, emails stop reading like a press release, and recommendations fit the business you actually run. If you only do one thing after reading this, do that one, and the Community Voice Guide will walk you through naming your tone before you start typing it into anything.

Then there are projects, and the order matters here. Once Circle AI knows how you sound, you want that showing up in everything you build, not just the one post you are working on this afternoon.

A project is a container for one piece of work: a launch, onboarding, your content for the quarter. Inside it live the chats, the files, and the instructions for that initiative. You create one, name it for the work, add your instructions and any files that matter, and then you work inside it. Your context stays put instead of scattered across twenty conversations.

The voice guide gives it the how. The project holds the what. And if you have a team, you can all work in the same project, so somebody can pick up where you left off without you writing a recap first.

Where Should You Start With Circle AI?

In this order: fill in the voice guide, ask it something you already know the answer to, then try one real ask, then build one habit.

What that looks like:

  • Spend ten minutes on the voice guide before anything else
  • Ask it a question you already know the answer to, so you can see how well it understands your community
  • Try one real ask: what is happening in your community this week, draft a welcome post for a specific space, what is missing from my structure
  • Open your daily brief and act on one recommendation. One.

On billing, since this is always the next question: Circle AI runs on credits, every plan includes free monthly credits, and if you use up your allotment you can buy add-on credits, which roll over month to month if you don’t use them. You can try all of this today without changing your plan.

Acting on One Thing Beats Reacting to the Loudest Thing

Most of us run our communities by whatever is shouting that day. The unanswered question. The member who emailed twice. The thing you forgot to post.

The reason the daily brief matters is not that it saves you ten minutes of scrolling. It is that it changes what you open the tab to do. One recommendation, acted on, is a different kind of week than clearing notifications until lunch.

And nothing changes in your community without your approval. You are still the one deciding what gets built and what gets said. You are just not starting from a blank page anymore.

Set up your voice, read your brief, ask one real question. That is the whole assignment.
